The Art of Choreography LAB for emerging choreographers began in our 2015-16 season, led by our GRoW Artist-in-Residence, Madeleine Dahm. Sixteen dancers were chosen to spend 7 months investigating composition and developing unique and dynamic choreography. The LAB culminated in the dance concert Mo.men.tum, on our Bram Goldsmith Stage.

 

In 2016-17 the LAB continued with focus on site-specific dance. Looking beyond our stages, the selected choreographers had the unique opportunity to explore the entire Wallis campus as a canvas for creating dance. The program culminated with a public performance of their work entitled here and now, presented over two evenings for an audience that followed the dancers from space to space.  

 

The Art of Choreography Lab is currently in development for the 2017/18 Season, and we will be announcing details soon.
